SAMF3 - Micro Finance Program
Read SAMF3 General Overview | Detailed Overview
"Give a hungry man a fish, feed him for a meal. Teach him to fish, feed him for a lifetime."
When Ibrahim and Diane Omondi birthed the idea of micro-finance, it looked an unachievable dream. They began by doing a trial run using funds sourced from their friends. The result of the trial run was very impressive! When the current North American director, David Yarnes, came to Africa in 2002, he gave the dream a new lease of life. David have since returned several times and continues to be instrumental in developing this project.
Poverty creates fear, sickness, hunger, malnutrition, and hopelessness. It dehumanizes. SAMF3 is giving hope, rekindling faith, reviving visions and helping many to refocus their efforts into sustainable, income-generating ventures to support their lives and their families.
Today, SAMF3 has over 150 members in Kenya and Uganda. Nearly 25% of applicants received relatively small loans of between US$ 100 - $400 and were able to establish a thriving business!
These small business loans are changing lives as people have an opportunity to establish income-generating projects and gain personal and family income.
Please pray with us as we plan to disburse more loans, increase our loan pool and multiply the formation of groups. A micro-finance loan helps the poor to provide food for their families, pay school fees, tithe to the church, buy clothing and return back the seed money to the revolving fund.
