Future Projects
HIV/AIDS Intervention

HIV / AIDS InterventionThe Lake Region of Kenya has been devastated by the HIV epidemic. This deadly disease has inflicted over 600,000 people in the region leading to significant economic and social repercussions. Communities in this region need to secure their future by effectively combating this deadly disease. There is a need to battle this epidemic by a combination of educative means and use of tools and methodologies that would give them greater control over their lives.

This initiative targeting one village in Western Kenya aims to provide the communities in the whole Lake Region of Kenya a means to a better tomorrow. This project will produce the strategy and implementation plan for effective combat of the HIV epidemic within these communities. The overall intent of this initiative is to enable success, as defined by a set of measurable targets, to these communities.

The most outstanding impact of HIV/AIDS is the shift in dependency ratios, the aged having to look after an increasing number of orphans. Poorer families find it impossible to cope with the needs of orphans. These orphans often drop out of school, become vagrant and get caught up in the HIV/AIDS cycle.

A package support is needed for orphans that includes:
  1. School Feeding
  2. School Uniforms
  3. Financial Sponsorship (school fees and levies)
  4. Vocational Training (for out-school-orphans)

The strategy of this upcoming project is to identify a specific number of orphans that could be supported towards a sustainable reliance.
