Passion For Change
Ibrahim's passion to see lasting change in the nation of Kenya has led him to be actively involved in organizing national prayer events and church-wide rallies. But there are several other interventions that go beyond prayer.
Political Involvement
Ibrahim was a delegate of the Constitutional Review Commission, a group of 300 delegates plus Parliamentarians that worked to re-write Kenya's constitution in 2003-2004. However, the new constitution has not been put into effect yet.
Corruption has eaten at the very fabric of the Kenyan society; it is found in the government, politics, business and civil society. It is found in among the high ranking as well as the poor and down-trodden. Its effect in fragile economies such as Kenya's is extremely serious.
The National Anti-Corruption Campaign Steering Committee was assigned the task of creating public awareness on all aspects of corruption, with the goal of changing the attitude of Kenya's toward this vice. The ill effects of corruption must be exposed and a commitment to eradicate corruption needs to rise from within our citizens.
In order to carry out this mandate, the committee has visited all districts around Kenya in the last two years, to carry out fact-finding and to look for reasons as to why corruption takes place. This would be with the goal of determining practical ways in which the nation can join together to fight corruption.
